While there are people who may disagree with my ranking, I still find it as among the cheap or should I say FREE places for couples who want to spend a romantic time together. With its very liberal approach to education, constituents have adapted this way of thinking over the years, and in fact, has become a way of life. Easily accessible by jeepney or cabs, the Sunken garden allows couples to simply enjoy the big open landscape. Every February, university students, alumni, professors, and even outsiders, flock this part of the campus to watch their favorite bands rock it out on a performance which can be enjoyed at a much less expensive admission fee.
On weekends, health enthusiasts also conduct aerobic dance sessions at the garden while the academic oval serves as jogging paths for them.
Manila Bay sunset has been considered among, if not the most, romantic sunset in the world. The variety of activities to be enjoyed at the park and its location are its main selling points. This may probably be the reason why it continues to become a favorite destination not only of families but couples too.
Among the recommended attractions is White Moon bar, located at the deck of the complex, which offers guests a picturesque view of the famed sunset while enjoying a sip of their favorite alcohol. For couples on a budget, Manila offers a cheaper alternative to Ocean Park. Few meters away from the complex is the most famous Manila landmark—the Luneta, more popularly know as Rizal Park.
Once the most popular destination for cheap and romantic dating, safety had become a major concern on this part of Manila in the past as there were reported cases of pickpockets, hold-ups, and even stubbing. But because of an initiative made by the city government, the park had undergone a major facelift and now features new attractions such as the fountain show, cultivated floral landscapes, and a tram ride—all thriving as the new favorites.
Police visibility has also been increased on this side of Manila to assure tourists of a more safety stroll at the park.
