Some of the eyelets on my boots are too close to the edge. I wonder if they will tear out. Compared to my old Corcoran jump boots, the leather on these is softer. I don't know if it's thinner, but it is way softer. You don't have to break these in. I actually like that. These feel like my old jump boots and are just as comfortable. The soles are awesome, compared to those on my old jump boots.
I gotta say, I really like wearing these. They are ready to go straight out of the box. I had to soak my old jump boots in water and wear them wet for a few days to break them in.

You won't have that issue with these. I bought these for riding my motorcycle. I think the leather is thick enough. I had a pair of the black jump boots that I wore my last three years on active duty in the military. I wore them every day for three years and stopped wearing them when I got out. They showed no signs of giving up. Sadly, I threw them away. I also had a pair of the WWII jump boots and used to wear them hiking. These things really are that comfortable.
The soles on the WWII boots, though, didn't hold up as well. I think one even split across the instep. With all that being said, if these boots don't last more than 1.
