But regardless, one point I forgot to mention is OP, has to get another trainer regardless or let her feelings go and continue the relationship professionally. Being in a relationship with your trainer will put stress into the relationship, because by making her his girlfriend he is losing a client. I might have misinterpreted what you were saying as suggesting that OP should turn the tables and accuse the PT of becoming too attached when in fact it's the opposite.

However, I still think what you're suggesting OP do is unfair to the PT since he'll be losing a client out of no fault of his own. Yeah from a logical stand-point I know that I should definitely just let it go or discontinue my training with him.

But emotionally it's really hard. If I'm honest I don't think i'm capable of maintaining the professional relationship. So I'm going to have to just finish my training alone. The real question is do I leave and tell him or leave and let him go? Do so like my first comment says, let him know it's not him but you. That way things don't have to get awkward.
